Last week was the best for spot Bitcoin ETFs since mid-April, and the inflow was the third-largest of 2026 overall, behind only the record January week of $1.42 billion. All five trading sessions closed positive, and the total inflow of $853.54 million exceeded the combined inflows of the previous four weeks. Ethereum ETFs posted their own best week since April, attracting $244.94 million and extending a streak of positive weeks to five — the longest this year. XRP, SOL, HYPE, and DOGE added token amounts, while LINK, LTC, HBAR, AVAX, DOT, and BNB were flat.
The concentration of inflows within the Bitcoin fund category was extreme. BlackRock's IBIT alone gathered $693.64 million — more than 80% of the weekly total — while Fidelity's FBTC attracted $116.4 million and ARK 21Shares' ARKB $50.85 million. Such concentration around a single product is not new to the market, but the scale of dominance this week highlights how narrow the group of real beneficiaries of the institutional rotation is.
A more telling signal accompanied the strong inflows. Trading volume for Bitcoin ETFs fell 9% in the same week to $8.19 billion — the second-lowest full trading-week figure since October 2024 — while Ethereum ETF turnover dropped even more sharply, by roughly 21%. Big money entered funds via primary issuances, but secondary trading activity around them remained subdued, signaling a fragile market recovery amid constrained spot liquidity.
The main catalyst for inflows was the July jobs report, which recorded an unexpected decline of 23,000 jobs instead of the expected gain, sharply cooling expectations of further Fed rate hikes and restoring appetite for risk assets. Against this backdrop, the inflow into Ethereum ETFs coincided with prices holding above $1,900 and approaching the psychological $2,000 mark. At the same time, the market remains negative year-to-date: Bitcoin ETFs are down roughly $4.44 billion and Ethereum funds about $873 million, prompting some analysts to remain cautious until a trend is confirmed by several consecutive weeks rather than a single strong spike.
Trading recommendations
Bitcoin
Buyers are now targeting a return to $65,000, which would open a direct path to $66,000, and then to $66,800 — overcoming that level would signal attempts to reestablish a bull market. On a drop, buyers are expected at $63,400. A return below that area could quickly push BTC toward $62,300. The furthest downside target is the $60,600 area.
Ethereum
A clear hold above $1,916 would open a direct path to $1,974. The furthest target is the high around $2,012; surpassing that would indicate strengthening bullish sentiment and renewed buyer interest. On a drop, buyers are expected at $1,868. A return below that area could quickly push ETH toward $1,834. The furthest downside target is the $1,782 area.
